Balmain 1

A new family meant some tweaking of this house was needed.

Previously segregated and dark, this house needed to be opened up with communal, family spaces created, where everyone could engage together, creating a real heart to the home. Living spaces needed to be light, airy and take advantage of the fantastic north easterly aspect.

Building in Balmain always means tight access challenges, and this was especially so when building over four floors.

This site had additional technical challenges relating to underpinning and fire rating works. Late 1800’s stonework was maintained and incorporated as a feature. Detailed works throughout, including on-site custom-made stairs and handrails.

The team at Construction Matters were absolutely fantastic. They were professional and the quality of their work is 9000%. It's really, really good. But on top of that, they cared. This is a challenging site to build on and the guys went above and beyond.
