Neutral Bay

This project began as a compliance upgrade for the central staircases. The stairs and balustrade were out of date and not up to the current building standards.

Services for gas, storm water and sewer were also upgraded for the whole complex. Construction Matters was awarded the project through competitive tender.

The project was challenging because there was a 27m difference in height from the front of the site to the rear.

A tower crane was placed on one of the balconies of the unit block to enable the materials to be moved into and from this steep, narrow site.

We demolished and excavated all of the existing stairs in stages before constructing new retaining walls and stairs to replace them.

This project was successfully completed in October 2015.
